Middle School Integrated Reading and Writing is one of our middle school reading and writing classes, helping students strengthen literary analysis, academic writing, and public speaking skills through the study of classic and contemporary texts across multiple genres.

Middle School Integrated Reading & Writing A: Program Details

Middle School Integrated Reading and Writing is a challenging English Language Arts course and one of our core middle school reading and writing classes, designed for middle school students, including bilingual and advanced readers. Through the study of classic and contemporary texts, students strengthen literary analysis, academic writing, and public speaking skills across argumentative, narrative, and informational genres.

The course emphasizes critical thinking, thoughtful discussion, and clear communication as students analyze texts, develop structured written responses, and present ideas with confidence. Instruction supports academic rigor while fostering cultural awareness and strong expression across disciplines.

The course includes a curated nine-novel book list featuring The Hunger Games, American Born Chinese, I Am Malala, Percy Jackson & The Olympians, Dune, Hamilton, The Joy Luck Club, Oedipus Rex, and The Three-Body Problem.
