Speech & Debate Key B: Program Details
Speech and Debate Key B is one of our advanced debate classes for kids, designed to build confident, informed speakers through SPAR debate, research-based argumentation, and structured speech practice. The course prepares students for middle school ELA expectations while strengthening critical thinking and persuasive communication.
Students engage with social, scientific, and civic topics through research papers, debates, and current events speeches. Instruction emphasizes organizing ideas quickly, crafting persuasive arguments, and responding thoughtfully to opposing viewpoints. Students continue developing posture, eye contact, verbal confidence, and effective use of gestures and platform movement.
Sample class materials help students analyze issues, identify clear reasons, support claims with examples, and evaluate the impact of arguments. Through guided activities and SPAR debate practice, students learn to speak intelligently on topics such as government, emerging technology, and human culture while building confidence, clarity, and strong communication skills.
