Intense Writing Workshop
Designed for grades 6–8, Intense Writing with Intention challenges middle schoolers to elevate their writing through sophisticated vocabulary, advanced grammar, and rigorous critical thinking. Students learn to master persuasive essays, synthesize multi-source research, and engage in Socratic discussions to craft compelling, evidence-based arguments with precision and creative flair.
Intense Writing with Intention
Our Intense Writing with Intention course connects advanced literacy and critical reasoning into a single, cohesive learning experience. Rather than treating vocabulary, grammar, and essay construction as isolated tasks, students learn how analytical reading directly informs persuasive writing and how intentional word choice reinforces complex thought. Through guided instruction, Socratic discussion, and structured research, students actively engage with challenging texts and learn to express their arguments with precision and creative flair.
As students progress, they move beyond basic summary into deep analysis and synthesis. They learn to evaluate complex sources, weave independent research seamlessly into their writing, and refine advanced mechanics—mastering varied sentence structures, precise punctuation, and sophisticated vocabulary. Writing instruction mirrors this cognitive growth, guiding students from structured paragraph logic to polished, evidence-based persuasive essays across multiple academic contexts.
This intentional approach builds high-level intellectual skills that transfer across disciplines and upper-level coursework. Students gain confidence as critical analysts, authority as writers, and autonomy as thinkers—preparing them not only for success in upper middle school, but for the rigorous demands of high school and beyond.
