Integrated Reading and Writing 4-5 B is one of our reading and writing classes for kids, designed as a reading enrichment program that strengthens literary comprehension, academic writing, and critical thinking through guided novel studies and text-based responses.

• Learn and apply the writing process: prewriting, drafting, revising, editing, and publishing.
• Write analytical responses and essays with clear thesis statements and well-supported arguments.
• Receive targeted feedback to refine reading comprehension, literary analysis, and written expression.

Integrated Reading & Writing 4–5 B: Program Details

Integrated Reading and Writing 4–5 B is one of our reading and writing classes for kids that serves as a focused reading enrichment program for upper elementary students. The course connects reading and writing to deepen literary understanding and strengthen written communication through guided novel studies, text analysis, and structured academic writing.

Students analyze key novels to explore themes, character development, and narrative structure while building critical thinking and academic writing skills. Instruction emphasizes thoughtful discussion, text-based responses, and writing strategies that support clear, confident expression across academic contexts.

The course includes a three-novel book list featuring The Giver, Dead End in Norvelt, and The Cay.
