Reading & Writing Learners 1: Program Details
Reading and Writing Learners 1 is one of our foundational reading classes for kids, designed to help Pre-K learners build a strong foundation in early literacy. By the end of this phonics course, students will be able to read, recognize, and write both consonants and vowels with confidence.
They will blend consonant-vowel-consonant (CVC) words, identify and use common consonant blends, digraphs, and vowel teams, and recognize ending sounds. Students will also develop a growing sight word vocabulary to support fluent reading and writing.
Through guided practice, they will begin building complete sentences and demonstrate their understanding by reading age-appropriate comprehension passages and answering questions in full sentences. Sample class and activity materials include tracing letter sounds, phonics tasks, and sight word practice to build recognition, fluency, and early reading and writing confidence.
