The MS & HS Parliamentary Debate Competition is a parliamentary debate competition program that helps middle school and high school students develop advanced argumentation, teamwork, and real-time debating skills while preparing for regional, national, and international tournaments.
Prerequisites: Prior debate experience and an interview assessment are required.

MS & HS Parliamentary Debate Competition: Program Details
The MS & HS Parliamentary Debate Competition is an advanced parliamentary debate competition program designed for middle school and high school students preparing to compete at regional, national, and international levels. The course emphasizes advanced argumentation, critical thinking, teamwork, and persuasive public speaking in fast paced debate environments.
Through in depth topic research and analysis of current events, students engage in informed debates on political and social issues. Instruction focuses on real-time argument development, strategic collaboration, rebuttal techniques, and adapting quickly to evolving debate rounds. Students refine their skills through peer practice, expert feedback, and high level competition.
By the end of the course, students are prepared to compete confidently across multiple tournament levels, build strong debate résumés, earn recognition through awards, and strengthen the communication, leadership, and strategic thinking skills that support academic achievement and future leadership opportunities.
