Week 2 Decoding AI
AI has never been so ubiquitous. The technology is incredibly important for understanding the world today. However, most people do not understand how it works and how it is best used. During Decoding AI week, students will choose a topic related to how AI functions, how it is being used, and its potential benifits and drawbacks. They will use their findings to write and present a reserach report on their chosen topic. From corperate strategies, to millitary intelligence, AI is transforming our world and impacting millions of people every day. Decoding AI will leave your child much better equiped to use and understand this emerging tech.

Week 3 Tech Investigations
Technology is at the center of our daily lives. An understanding of how AI, microchips, telecommunications, and computers are built and work will give students who take Tech Investigations a huge advantage in school and beyond. They will choose from topics such as, mineral access, Open AI, Telsa vs BYD, Grok vs Gemini, and others and do an investigation. They will take the results of their investigations and write a persuasive esay that they will present and defend in front of the class. Students will learn how to write engaging and persuasive material based on quality reserch on some of the hottest topics in tech.

Week 4 Green Century
As the world works towards carbon neutrality, some amazing work has been done all over the world to change how we aquire and consume energy. In this race against time, countries and private companies have developed strategies to create a clean energy grid. This has led to innovations in auto manufacturing, solar, hydroelectric and more! In Green Century, students will look at an energy project and do their own research regarding its effecacy that they will use to create a report. They will develop a new understanding regarding how we get power for our daily lives and the skills that come with research and presentation.

Week 5 Capital Research Lab
At the core of the modern world is trade and the exchange of natural resources. The first corporations were concerned with investing in international trade. Access to key resources such as oil, cobalt, and rare metals is more important than ever. Students will choose a research topic related to the international flow of captial, goods, and infrastructure. Examples include, cobalt mining in Africa, the Belt and Road Initiative, and the US attempt to aquire Greenland. Through their research report, students will develop and understanding of how capital works and improve their economic literacy while learning about a topic that is of importance to them.

Week 6 Cosmic Discovery
The twenty first century has seen some amazing developments in the human understanding of space. But how do powerful telescopes, martian probes, and new revelations about the universe impact our lives every day? Students will get to evaluate the many benefits of space exploration and learn how space exploration pushes progress and technology here on earth. Is the world seeing a new space race? Should space be a peaceful place, or should countries be allowed to defend their satellites? Cosmic discovery will improve your child's communication and research skills while learning about one of the most exciting fields of study.

Week 7 Rocket Frontiers
Space has become incredibly important to our daily lives. Cell service, GPS, and weather prediction are already essential aspects of the contemporary world. Now with new frontiers in space mining, military applications, tourism, and even the elusive dream of a colony on mars, investment in space technology has become larger than ever. Students will get to choose and research a topic related to the twenty first century space race. From Rocket Lab to SpaceX, students will develop their own opinions on the future of investment in rockets and other technology related to putting human objects in outer space.

Week 8 Corporate Stratagies
The last two hundred years have been dominated by the rise of multinational corporations. The competition and development of these companies shapes the business landscape for everyone today. Students will get to learn how some of the most recognized brands, from Microsoft to McDonalds developed successful strategies. They will research a chosen industry, company, or business practice of their choosing and develop an understanding of historical and contemporary business through their research and presentation.

Week 9 Marketing: Building Brands
Apple, Tesla, Coca-Cola: The power of these brands lies in decades of strategy and marketing. What makes a luxury brand desirable, or push crazes such as Labubu and Chat GPT? In building brands, students will research one or more companies and discover what strategies they used in order to gain the prestige and value they now posses. Alternatively, some students may choose to look a a company that did not have branding success and analyze what went wrong. Building Brands will give students to look a communication through the lens of marketing and practice their own communication skills.
